Travel back in time to a radder, more rock-n-roll decade as Franklin Footlight Theatre presents the hit jukebox musical Rock of Ages!

Aspiring rocker Drew (Asher Clark) is working as a busboy at the legendary Bourbon Room club when small-town girl Sherrie Christian (Olivia Mills) arrives in Hollywood to chase her own rock-n-roll dreams. A romance begins to unfold as club owners Dennis (David Bedard) and Lonny (Jack Finley) are confronted with the city’s plans to demolish the strip.
Real estate developers Hertz and Franz Klinemann (Matt Boisvert, Saige Granger) clash with ousted city planner Regina Koontz (Abby Carlson). “Gentleman’s club” owner Justice Charlier (Melissa Furbish) hustles to keep her own venue afloat. Meanwhile, rockstar Stacee Jaxx (Michael Smyth) announces that he’s splitting from his band Arsenal to pursue a solo career. When it seems like everything is falling apart, will the Sunset Strip crumble? Or will the powers of love and rock-n-roll prevail?
This high-energy, high-octane tribute to the 80’s rock scene includes songs from Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison and more. Footlight’s production features a 35-person cast of powerhouse vocalists and dancers from around the Lakes Region backed up onstage by a live, 5-person band.
Rock of Ages is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals. The stage musical was written by Chris D’Arienzo, with arrangements and orchestrations by Ethan Popp.
Performances are August 13-16 at Tilton School’s Hamilton Hall, 30 School Street, Tilton, NH. Tickets are general admission ($20 adult; $18 student/senior) and available at the door or online at www.franklinoperahouse.org
